Caitlin and I met around 8 years ago when I got married, she helped plan and organise my wedding believe it or not. It has been lovely to watch her family grow over the years. How the children have changed, becoming their own true selves. This family session was a for their 10th wedding anniversary and little did I know they were going to share some top secret news.
This was not my first time shooting the Hume family. We have, in the past, done a family session and a ‘front doorstep’ shoot (during the depths of Covid-19 restrictions).
For this session, mid-June, we kept it mostly outdoors due to the arrival of slightly warmer weather. I arrived at the Hume’s family home, and we hopped right on the farm quad bike and headed up into the hills – so lucky to have the space they do, right at their fingertips, it was clear to see the children felt truly at one with their surroundings.
I spent a good while photographing the family just being themselves. Having fun on their homeland, before heading back down for a few shots at their house. It was so clear to see, just how natural and relaxed they all felt in their home environment, both in the house and out on the hill – an insight into the fun-loving spirit of farm family life.
“We booked Family session for our 10 year anniversary and a surprise announcement. Becky was absolutely amazing with everything. She was thrilled with the prospect of being dragged up a hill and was so flexible. She makes you so relaxed and at ease, you don’t notice the photos being taken with all the chatter!
We were blown away with the finished photos and loved looking at them. How do you choose which ones to frame?!
It’s made our anniversary and wee surprise unforgettable!”
