Kristian & Jo | Prestonfield House

Luxurious Prestonfield House saw the intimate wedding of Kristian and Jo.

Prestonfield House is full of warmth and richness, with its lavish interiors and grounds. Sadly it rained all day but that didn’t stop us from making the best of the venue. Kristian and Jo picked the venue as it was such a far cry from the Scandinavian style that they are used too. With Krsitan from Norway they wanted to give his family the WOW factor. Prestonfield certainly has it.

We met Toffee the Highland Coo, a resident at Prestonfield House and found shelter from the rain in a summer house. I love it when my couples are happy to swap Jenny Packham for Hunters and head out into the rain.

As a gift for their guests Jo had given them all a piece of pottery that had been broken then fixed again using gold. It’s a Japanese tradition called Kintsukuroi. They believe that when something has suffered damage and has scars then it becomes more beautiful. I love this way of thinking and if you want to find out more about it then here is a wee Youtube clip.

Here is what Jo and Kristian said about me..

Wow, what can I say?! Becky is wonderful. We loved how she captured the real ‘little moments’ of our wedding – from happy tears to wriggly children – she captures photos that are truly authentic and memories that we will cherish forever. It wasn’t an easy job, pouring with rain outside and the house we got married in was dark inside but Becky cleverly used this to add depth and atmosphere to the photos. They are stunning and individual – exactly what we wanted. We couldn’t be happier. All our friends and family haven’t stopped complimenting them.
Becky, Thank you so much for all your hard work, care and attention to detail, along with your ninja photographic skills during our wedding day! You are an incredibly talented photographer and a real pleasure to have worked with. Jo and Kristian Waernes xxx
